During my time playing basketball the game was so different, I was concerned a "BIG" being that I was always one of the taller kids. But I truly had NO SKILL. I could play but I only played to my strengths and I would try to hide my weaknesses. Which wasn't good and it didn't take me as far as I truly felt like I could've gone.
The dream died but I still loved the game and wanted to still be apart so I would play at different parks and gyms to just play but really was always the same player, typical big guy, block shots, get rebound, working the paint. Nothing to stand out.
Moving past me, my daughter starting playing around the age of 7. She would be the only girl playing with boys and would play fine just didn't know what to do or how to do it. So I thought that the next step would be to find her a girls team and that would help her hone her skills. Found her a program but she wasn't getting the skill I wanted her to have.
I happen to see coach at the time training kids on the side and i wanted my daughter to be apart of it. I would let her train and train and train, and I saw her skill each day growing and she was becoming SKILLFUL. I loved it. During that I started coaching for the AAU team my daughter was playing for and getting to know a coach which would become my mentor. I learned about Im Possible Training and wanted to learn more.
I then was working hand and hand with my mentor and became a Im Possible Certified Skill Trainer. I have now been working as a skill trainer for more then 6 plus years and counting. Within that time I have had the pleasure on working with some of best players in the world from overseas Pro's to former NBA Pro's, to current Pros and top rated college players.
